1. Introduction
Maths Jumper ("the App", "we", "us") is a children's educational game, published by Jonathan Coles, designed to help players practise their times tables. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information when you use it.
We are committed to protecting the privacy of all players, especially children. This policy complies with the Google Play Developer Program Policies, the Apple App Store Review Guidelines, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
By downloading or playing Maths Jumper, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal data. Maths Jumper plays fully offline and stores all game information locally on your device. The only time the App uses the internet is to verify an optional in-app purchase (see Section 4).
The following data is saved only on your device using your device's local storage, and is never transmitted to us or any third party:
- Game progress (stages completed, questions answered)
- Stars and coins earned
- Per-fact accuracy and mastery records
- Selected character and cosmetic settings
- Audio and display preferences
- Locally scheduled reminder times (only if notifications are enabled)
We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or any account information
- Location data (precise or approximate)
- Advertising or device identifiers (IDFA, GAID, IMEI, or similar)
- Photos, camera, or microphone data
- Contacts or calendar data
- Crash logs or analytics events
The one exception is the anonymous purchase-verification request described in Section 4, which happens only if a grown-up makes or restores the optional purchase. As with any internet request, the receiving servers briefly process the requesting IP address to return a response; it is not used to identify or profile you.
3. Children's Privacy
Maths Jumper is directed at children under the age of 13 and is designed to be safe for use by children of all ages. We take children's privacy extremely seriously.
- No personal data is collected from any user, including children under 13.
- No parental consent is required because no personal data is ever collected.
- The App contains no advertising of any kind.
- The App contains one optional in-app purchase: a one-off payment to unlock the full game (Stages 2–5, all 12 times tables, and the full character crew). Stage 1 and the 1× times table are completely free. All payment processing is handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store — we never handle or see your payment information.
- The App contains no social features, chat, or user-generated content.
- The App contains no links to external websites during gameplay. The only outbound link is to this privacy policy, in the parent-facing Settings screen.
- Optional reminder notifications (e.g. daily practice reminders) are generated locally on the device and involve no data collection or transmission.
- The purchase is locked behind a grown-ups-only gate, so children cannot buy it unaided; the resulting purchase token contains no personal information about the child.
- The game itself plays fully offline; an internet connection is used only when a grown-up makes or restores the optional purchase.
This App fully complies with COPPA and is suitable for use by children without parental supervision from a data-privacy standpoint.
4. Offline Operation & Third Parties
Maths Jumper is a self-contained application. Every game asset — images, sounds, videos, and fonts — is bundled inside the App and loaded from your device's local storage. During gameplay the App does not download content from, or send any information to, any external server, including ours. The sole exception is the optional purchase-verification request described below.
We do not use, integrate, embed, or share data with any of the following:
- Advertising networks or ad SDKs
- Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
- Social media platforms or third-party login providers
- Crash or performance reporting services
- Content delivery networks or remote asset hosts
In-app purchase verification (RevenueCat): The full-game unlock is verified using RevenueCat, a third-party purchase-verification service. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat confirms with Google Play or the Apple App Store that the transaction is valid. RevenueCat receives an anonymous installation identifier and the purchase receipt; it does not receive your name, email address, payment details, or any personal information. Your payment is processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store — neither we nor RevenueCat ever handle your payment card details. RevenueCat’s privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
5. Data Storage & Security
All game data is stored locally on the user's device using the device's built-in storage mechanisms. This data:
- Never leaves the device through our App
- Is not encrypted by us (it contains no sensitive personal information)
- Can be deleted at any time by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App
- Is not backed up to any cloud service by our App (though a user's device operating system may back up app data as part of standard device backups)
Because we collect no personal data, there is no personal data for us to protect, breach, or lose.
How to Delete Your Data
Maths Jumper is published by Jonathan Coles. We hold almost no data about you, but here is exactly how to remove what little exists:
Your game progress (stars, stage progress, mastered facts, settings) is stored only on your device. To delete it, either clear the app's data in your device settings, or uninstall the app. This removes it permanently. We never receive this data, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Your purchase record. If you buy the optional full-game unlock, our purchase-verification provider (RevenueCat) stores an anonymous record — a randomly generated app identifier and the Google Play purchase token — so the purchase can be restored later. This record contains no name, email, or payment details. To have it deleted, email us at support@mathsjumper.com and we will delete your purchase-verification record. Please note that once deleted, the purchase can no longer be automatically restored on a new device.
6. App Permissions
Maths Jumper requests only the minimal permissions needed for gameplay:
- Vibration — used to provide optional haptic feedback on button presses. No data is collected.
- Notifications (optional) — used to show gentle local reminders (e.g. daily practice streak reminders). These reminders are scheduled and displayed entirely on your device by the App itself; they are not sent from any server, involve no data collection or transmission, and can be declined when prompted or disabled at any time in your device settings. The App works fully without this permission.
Apart from the purchase permissions above, the App requests nothing else. It does not request permissions for:
- Camera or microphone
- Location (GPS or network-based)
- Contacts or calendar
- Phone state or call logs
- Storage read/write beyond the App's own local storage
The App also includes the permissions needed for the optional in-app purchase:
- Billing — enables the one-off full-game unlock through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
- Internet — used only to verify or restore that purchase. All game content is bundled in the App and loads locally; the game does not need a connection to play.
7. Advertising
Maths Jumper contains no advertising of any kind. We do not:
- Display banner, interstitial, or reward ads
- Use advertising SDKs
- Collect advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID)
- Engage in behavioural or interest-based advertising
- Sell advertising inventory to any third party
8. Your Rights
Under applicable privacy law (including GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act 2018), individuals have rights regarding their personal data. Because we hold no personal data about you, most of these rights are satisfied by default.
However, you have the right to:
- Delete your game data at any time by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling it from your device.
- Request deletion of purchase-verification records held by our provider by emailing support@mathsjumper.com. Note that this may prevent the purchase being restored on a future device.
- Contact us at any time to ask questions about our data practices.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been infringed. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Residents of California may also have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). As we collect no personal information, we do not sell personal information, and no opt-out is required.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any material changes — particularly those that affect how data is collected or used — we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the App or the Google Play and Apple App Store listings.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
The current version of this policy is always available at https://mathsjumper.com/privacy-policy.html, linked from the App's Google Play and Apple App Store listings and within the App's Settings screen.
10. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
